Asteria: Epic Poem of the Beautiful Celetial Hidden Island Goddess

I am the goddess of the night sky and sea

A beginning to a long ended era

The daughter of Titans Coeus and Phoebe

Defiant of God Zeus and Goddess Hera

Strong willed and free spirited I still remain

In Ancient tongue “ad astra per aspera”

My influence on the celestial plane

Begets nightly visions and incantations

Over horoscopes and prophecy I reign

Guardian of nocturnal divinations

The realm of Astronomy is mine to claim

My existence imbues the constellations

Forever remembered by my astral name

I became Delos the hidden quail island

And for sheltering Leto I am to blame

Whether it be remote valley or highland

Hera’s wrath for my sister was relentless

Hera forbade Leto’s birth from all dryland

Though my actions left the goddess contentless

Out of reverence she dare not reproach me

Thus for my great deed I remain repentless

From Leto’s birth her dear children came to be

Apollo and Artemis became well known

As well as my own daughter Hecate

All went on to inspire legends of their own

Surviving the ages even as time turns

Their stories and likenesses preserved in stone

Like the sun in the sky my own name yet burns

Gifter of shooting stars and prophetic dreams

Above the moon shines while below the sea churns

A planetary scholar of cosmic schemes

I interpret the nocturnes of the heavens

To warn of impending natural extremes

Appearing as a flash of brilliant levins

Goddess
